Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of French fashion house, destined for a German magazine, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in an engagement reception dress made of soft yellow Indian silk muslin, which is sewn into narrow hems and attached to a hip yoke made of Irish lace. Irish lace is added as a flounce that is narrower at the front and back and very wide at the side, which is again lined up with quilted muslin, thus bringing a rich change to the skirt. The bolero with curved spikes, one of which falls over the upper arm as a sharp point, also embellished with Irish lace. The sleeves, sewn into hems below the elbow, flare out into two puffs separated by black velvet stripes. Black velvet also forms the belt, the pleated stand-up collar and emerges from beneath the bolero on the right side to pull over to the left as a bandeau, ending in a full velvet rosette. The look is completed with pearl necklaces and earrings, and a lucky brooch in the shape of a horseshoe.
