Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Paquin, destined for a German and British magazines, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German, French and English. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a long dust-cloak, also known as "duster" in a soft white cloth material, which enfolds the figure with scarce a fold in its entire length, and ornamentated at the bottom with a broad hem. The wide loose sleeves fall well over the hands, with a broad double turn back cuff. Shoulderpiece and capuchon are of tucked silk, edged with black velvet and trimmed with pink silk chiffon with tiny forget-me-not clusters. At the back of the hood, and to fasten it in front, are loops of black velvet ribbon with diamond buckles, long ends of the ribbon hang down in front. A hat of black and white straw, covered with black tulle, and having as sole trimming a long white ostrich feather curving down over the hair at the back, is worn with this gown.
