Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Miremont, destined for a German and British magazines, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German, French and English. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a street gown in dove-colored cloth. The skirt shows a broad stitched box pleat at front and back, which opens out half way down. Three flat folds of the cloth fit close around the hips, finished at the under edge with stitching and a tiny fold of black silk satin. The bodice is jacket shape, a trifle longer in front, the lower half plain, the upper laid in tucks, and fitting out over the sleeves like a shoulder cap. Folds of the plain cloth form an inner revers over the vest and two folds fall out over the bust. All the edges of the jacket are finished with the tiny fold of black satin that trims the folds on the hips. The waist is further trimmed with a passementerie in coral and jet, the narrow vest, collar and sleeve cuffs are trimmed with rich Russian embroidery. The loose coat sleeve "a l'engageante" is trimmed with the coral and jet of the bodice, and has a turned-back fold edged with the satin. A stitched pattern trims the under edge of the skirt. The look is completed with a hat with silk flowers, and the lady is wearing a short pearl necklace with matching earrings, and an oval medallion on a thin chain.
