Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Lesne, destined for a German magazine, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a so called "Rome costume", consisting of white bodice and the skirt, with a black fox trimming on the bottom, the cuffs of the sleeve and the small bolero revealing a chiffon chemiset. The old Irish lace decorates puffs of the elbows. The rest of the decoration of the suit consists of bias made of white satin, tapering at the front and widening towards the back, with thick white silk passementerie adorning the skirt. The same biases are repeated at the waist at the collar, as a shoulder piece and loose epaulets, as well as at the belt and the brim of the bolero. In addition, a large flat hat, made of genuine Venetian lace, completes the look. The lady is wearing a set of pearl jewellery, consisting of a choker necklace and a pair of round earrings, and a pocket watch hangs on the belt attached with two chains to the lapels of the jacket.
