Paper photograph, representing a portrait of a young woman, an American Broadway actress, author, and media sensation during the early 1900s, Edna GOODRICH, born Bessie Edna STEVENS (1883 – 1971). She is pictured in a photographer's studio, leaning on a pedestal, wearing a promenade gown, consisting of a short jacket and a long skirt with a small train. The jacket has long sleeves, slightly puffy on the top, and a large triangle double lapel, with the larger part embellished with floral appliques. The shoulders, the bottom line of the bodice, and the side line of the skirt are trimmed with a braided silk rope. The bottom of the skirt is embellished with fine openwork lace leaves, and there is a dark tulle flower in the center of the bodice waistline. A large and high ruffled tulle collar is tied with a wide beaded silk necklace, and the lady is wearing a hat with ostrich feathers, and holding a pair of gloves.Material
