Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Lesne, destined for a German magazine, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a stage costume dress in butter-colored silk muslin, sewn into tight folds, falls over a petticoat of light purple satin. Four small ruffled ruffles are attached at intervals to the long skirt, apparently dividing the skirt into many flounces, at knee height in front, rising backwards, under a dense ruffle of mousseline. Large tufts of the lightweight fabric centered around golden fringes are scattered around the finishing ruffle. The waist, held by a lilac velvet belt, is blouse-like, loose, deeply sweetheart shaped and consists of yellow lace covered all over with pearls and amethysts. Half-length sleeves with a mousseline ruffle, the base of which is covered with full lilac satin bows, complete the delightful look. The model is wearing a chunky chain link short necklace, and holding an open fan.
