Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Boué, destined for a German and British magazines, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German, French and English. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a dark blue cloth outside gown, with a train frock, covered at the sides and behind with heavy stitched crushed seams, free and flat in front. The trimming consists of gracefully waved bands of cloth having tiny borders of white satin. A blouse all of plissé folds with large facings: a stand-up collar in a second flat one, whilst a narrow black velvet ribbon forms a handsome relief on the light ground. A pretence of a vest and trimmings on the slit pagoda sleeves falling over narrow folds are of black and white velvet, and a chemisette of white gaufré silk muslin with some black velvet ribbon as inner passe. White straw hat with turned brim and black velvet rosette, with black and white ostrich feathers en panache. The look is completed with a pair of round earrings, an openwork diamond brooch on the collar, another round brooch in the center of the chest, and a chain pendant on the waist level.
