Description
Small oval belt buckle in mother of pearl imitating white celluloid with a central arm to which a steel pin is attached.

Celluloid arrived in Germany from 1910 onwards, and enabled a nascent industry to develop, producing the first mass-produced objects made of plastic. It was notably used to imitate materials such as mother-of-pearls in jewellery.
