Description
Complete men's French suit, consisting of a coat, a jacket and breeches, made of looped velvet decorated with simulated undulating ribbons and flowers, trimmed with covered buttons, and decorated with embroidered buttonholes, and false buttonholes underlining large spiked pockets enhanced with braided threads. The back and sleeves of the jacket are in wool twill, and the jacket has two large pointed pockets with embroidered points and raised threads. It has two lines of scarlet striped velvet inserts on the ribs that connect the armpit to the bottom of the garment. The inside of the jacket is made of beige fabric with visible seams. The jacket covers a pair of bridge breeches. The back of these panties is reinforced with a ribbon attached to an iron loop.

The masculine fashion didn't change a lot after the beginning of the 18th century. The sleeves became longer and the mousseline progressively disapeared on it.
