Dresses in jute also called "potato dresses" symbolize the rejection of fashion. During the 1960s many fashion traditions broke, mirroring social movements of this decade. Fashions arising from small pockets of young people in a few urban centres received large amounts of media publicity, and began to heavily influence both the haute couture of elite designers and the mass-market manufacturers. Examples include, of course, the mini skirt or the pants for women, but also more experimental fashions less often seen on the street, such as PVC clothes and other Potato Sack Dress like this one (To learn more about Potatos dresses see below "Be beautiful in a potato sack” dress ).
