Description
A French magazine 'Paris Match March 1958, featuring an article and photographic spread on Dior house work and life.
On front cover depicted Yves Saint Laurent with two women wearing Dior house creations.
With right hand Yves Saint Laurent holding the arm of he muse, Victoire DOUTRELEAU (1934-), wearing a white lace wedding dress with satin ribbon with a bow and pink rose on the waistline. The outfit accessorized with a pair of satin gloves, a lace voile with pink artificial rose in the middle at the front, pumps with pointy toes embellished with a thin bow, rhinestone necklace and earrings.

With left hand Yves Saint Laurent holding a woman wearing a red trapezoid dress closes with big round red buttons at the front and with two big pockets on the hipline. The outfit accessorized with a red hat with wide brim, pumps with pointy toes, necklace and bracelets on both hands made of pink beads. This dress is one of the first collections introduced by the young Saint-Laurent, who took over Dior's fashion house after his sudden death. The minimalism in this work, eliminating any decorative factors including flashy colors, patterns and materials, is very interesting as a step towards the simple mini dress in the coming 1960s.
