Description
Original drawing in blue pen and gouache on embossed paper representing a theatre costume sketch of a woman in a mazurka dance costume, consisting of a short crinoline type white dress with blue underskirt and golden trimmings, corset style bodice with oval neckline, long sleeves with vertical golden fringes on the cuffs; and a blue konfederatka hat with one golden tassel, adorned on one side with red roses, over short styled hair.

The sketch could be created for "The Sleeping Beauty" ballet, composed by Pyotr Ilyich TCHAIKOVSKY, first performed in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
