Gérard ALBOUY (French, Paris 1912–1985)

Gérard Albouy (1912–1985) was a French milliner, painter and art collector. From 1938 until 1964 he opened a Parisian hat shop called Albouy. Some of his notable works include veiled hats made of recycled newspaper, which he constructed during the Occupation, and the mollusque, a hat made without interlining.
