Gustave POETZSCH (Swiss, Neuchâtel 1870 - 1950 Paris)

Portraitist, landscaper, pastellist and lithographer in Paris, born in Neuchâtel (Switzerland), December 17, 1870. He came to Paris in 1888 and was a student of Luc-Olivier Merson at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. From 1895, he exhibited at the Salons des Indépendants, French Artists (Artistes Francais) and the National Society of Fine Arts. In particular, POETZSCH painted Velay landscapes and women portraits.
