Mayer & Pierson (French, active 1855 - 1878)

French photography studio founded by Pierre PIERSON (born in Hinckange en Moselle in 1822), and Léopold Ernest (born in 1817) and Louis Frédéric MAYER (born in 1822) in Paris in 1855. Previously, the MAYER brothers had produced coloured photographs for which they received numerous awards. The trio exhibited numerous portraits and cartes-de visite at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851 and again in 1862. Léopold Ernest MAYER died in c. 1865, and both Louis Frédéric MAYER and PIERSON died in 1913.
