House of Alfred Lenief (French, 1922 - 1933)

French fashion house founded in 1922 by Alfred LENIEF (LENIEFF), who worked for Paul POIRET before leaving to set up his own establishment at 374 Rue St Honoré, Paris. His assistant designer was Marie-Georgette, the Baroness Fouquier. His creations were destined for rich and noble public, such as baroness Hottinguer and others. As LENIEF learned from Poiret, each piece of clothing has its model number, title and client's name behind the label. The house closes in 1933.
