Olympe de LERNAY (French, ca. 1801 - 1864)
Countess Olympe de LERNAY (French, ca. 1801 - 1864), born Rose-Olympe MILON de VILLIERS. Her father, Alexandre-Louis-Joseph, count MILON de VILLIERS, was an auditor at the council of state, former sous-prefect and prefect in several departments in France till 1830. Her mother, Angélique-Francoise-Magloire MENJOT de DAMMARTIN, also issued from a big nobel family. Countess Olympe de LERNAY was a great lady of her time. She was a very talented poet and writer, and also known as a painter, portraitist, exhibited and worked in Paris and Orleans from 1835 to 1837.
