House of Léonard (French, founded 1958)

The Léonard House was founded in 1958, in Nîmes, by Jacques LEONARD and Daniel TRIBOUILLARD. Constantly innovating around the printing on fabrics, TRIBOUILLARD invents, in 1960, the successlful fully fashioned process for the printing of pullovers in crylor and wool. The slogan of the house,"La robe Léonard: 150 grammes de bonheur" ("The Leonard dress: 150 grams of happiness"), is a sensation. In the early 1970s, the company inaugurates a perfumes department. In the 1980s, the Léonard House triumphed in Japan following the presentation of a collection of kimonos in Tokyo in 1983. Daniel TRIBOUILLARD was the first Westerner to penetrate the ancient manufacturing secrets of the kimono for 2000 years. In 2007, Léonard House was recognized as "Entreprise du Patrinoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) for its contribution to the richness of French culture and craftsmanship.
