Ballerina (French, was active in 1960s)
Ballerina was a high-end French boutique label from the mid-1960s. The description Création Couture on it's logo indicates, that the garment was designed and produced following couture methods – likely hand-finished – even if it was part of a high-end boutique ready-to-wear line rather than a primary Haute Couture house. The script "Marque Déposée" on it's labels was a serious legal protection and the additional text "Montage Garanti" (guaranteed assembly) was a quality mark of that time, that signifies that the garment was constructed using traditional tailoring methods. Labels like Ballerina catered to a wealthy clientele who wanted the French chic look, popularized by style icons of the time like Jackie KENNEDY and Catherine DENEUVE, but through high-end boutiques rather than the prohibitively expensive primary couture houses.
