Juliette (French, was active in the end of 1940s)

Juliette Haute Mode was a couture house operating out of Nice and Paris during the mid-1940s. During the final years of WWII and the period of Liberation (1944–1945), couture houses in Nice continued to produce luxury items for a discerning clientele, maintaining French style despite severe material shortages. The location at Avenue Notre Dame served the affluent residents of the French Riviera and wartime refugees. In 1944-1945, the boutique remained a key destination for high-end accessories, particularly its signature silk velvet hats, as Nice transitioned from occupation to Allied liberation on 30 August 1944. The house was part of a select group of "regional couture" establishments that mirrored the standards of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris. Labels from this period specifically highlighted both the Paris and Nice addresses to certify the garment's authenticity and high-fashion pedigree.
