Painter. Was born in Buenos Aires. Studied art professionally, took a ship and painted on board paying his way. Arriving in Paris, he painted portraits for a living. In Paris he met his wife from Rotterdam and got married, moved to Holland and their daughter was born in Holland. Then went back to Argentina where was born son Tony Gantes. Later all the family moved to Puerto Rico. Antonio Gantes passed in San Juan (Puerto Rico).
