Harold Grant, one of the most successful American apparel retail chains, was established in 1947 and has always been known for its men and women resort style clothing. GRANT opened his first dress shop on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue, Florida, catering to wealthy winter residents looking for clothes for the Palm Beach season, as well as for travel. This store he closed in 1985 and expanded to other locations in the south Florida area under the Harold Grant name. In 1994 Bob GRANT, Harold’s son, took over as president of the company. After several disappointing seasons in the early 2000s, Harold's Stores took bankruptcy and closed in late November 2008.
