House of Boué Soeurs (French, 1899 - 1957)
The "Boué Soeurs" fashion house was founded by two sisters: Madame Sylvie Montegut and Baroness Jeanne d'Etreillis, French from Cologne. The brand's name is based on the two sisters' maiden names : Boué. The company was founded in 1899 and closed in 1957. Ever since they were little, the Boué sisters have had a real passion for fashion and design. The brand's first store opens on rue de la Paix where they sold women's apparel such as evening dresses, gowns, wedding dresses, frocks, lingerie, and camisoles. In 1915, a second boutique opened, this time in New York. The brand features fine Alençon lace. The Boué sisters made it possible to import French know-how into the United States and then the rest of the world.
