Albanese Roma (Italian, founded 1925)
In 1925 Armando Albanese created the Albanese brand by opening the first made-to-measure shoe workshop in Rome Via Caio Mario. In 1929 the first store was born in Via Belli, and in 1937 artisan workshops in Via Crescenzio. In the 1940s, cork sandals were invented before prêt-à-porter. in 1944 the factory was opened in via Boccea, and in 1945 – the second shop in Cola di Rienzo. In 1951 his son Enzo (1933-2003), took over and opened the first boutique in Via Lazio. Signature of Albanese is hammer.
