Publishing house Amiot Dumont (French, founded 1946)
Publishing house Amiot-Dumont was founded in December 1946 as Le Livre Contemporain, which specialised in popular and travel books. It was located at 20, Avenue de l'Opera, Paris.
Jean DUMONT (1923 – 2001) was a French historian and publisher. He worked as editor for several publishing companies such as Amiot-Dumont (1947 – 1959), Grasset, François Beauval, Club des Amis du Livre and Famot.
In 1958 Amiot-Dumont was purchased by French publishing company Presses de la Cité, which was founded in 1943 by Sven NIELSEN, the son and grandson of booksellers, who came to Paris in 1924.
