Claude Henri Georges François GARNIER born January 27, 1912. He is the son of the painter and illustrator Pierre Henri GARNIER-SALBREUX and Geneviève Adélaïde THENON. Claude GARNIER began his career at the Banque des Pays Bas. He left the financial world for that of drawing and did an internship in an imagery. Quickly he proposed these drawings to the "Carnets de la Semaine" a satirical weekly publication published from 1915 to 1933. He married during the 1930s, Joséphine CALIOT. To feed his household, alongside journalism, he creates costumes and sets for the theatre. In particular for the company of Regain, and the reviews that his uncle presents there. In June 1940, he was taken prisoner and imprisoned in Poland, where he notably designed an ironic poster entitled "Winter in Pommern". He died at the age of 39, on May 22, 1951.
