Edith HEAD was an American film costume designer, born Edith POSENER on October 28, 1897 in San Bernardino (California) and died on October 24, 1981 in Los Angeles.
She won the Oscar for Best Costume Design eight times between 1950 and 1974 and was nominated 27 more times between 1949 and 1978.
Influential, she is sometimes presented as having "invented glamor in Hollywood".
