House of Mac Douglas (French, founded 1947)

Mac Douglas is a pioneering French brand in the world of fashion and luxury, specialized in leather. McDouglas was founded in 1947. That year, the brand released the bomber jacket in soft leather with its fur collar. Symbol of the heroes of the sky, the garment will become a best-seller at the origin of the epic of the brand. The brand's first boutique opened in 1970 in rue du Faubourg St Honoré and its creations were worn by the biggest stars: from Brigitte BARDOT who poses in a leather mini dress, to Steve MCQUEEN and his "Joss Randall" in suede-like split leather. Mac Douglas clothes fit perfectly with the Rock'n Roll trend of the time. In the 1980s, the brand joined forces with young designers such as Azzedine ALAIA to release tight-fitting lambskin skirts and with Jean-Paul GAULTIER to create dipped lambskin corsets.
