Josse BAILLY (Swiss, born 1977)

Josse BAILLY is a Swiss artist, born January 25, 1977. Self-taught painter active for several years in the squat scene, Josse BAILLY undertook an academic course between 2007 and 2012 at HEAD, to deepen his practice of the painting medium. Since the beginning of the 2010s, Josse BAILLY has exhibited in several institutions and art spaces throughout Switzerland, such as SIC Raum für Kunst (Lucerne), Aargauer Kunsthaus (Aarau), Mamco (Geneva), Musée Rath (Geneva), Ausstellungsraum Klingental (Basel), CAN (Neuchâtel), Manoir de Martigny (Martigny) as well as the Istituto svizzero (Milan) and Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlin) during group and monographic exhibitions. In 2010, Josse BAILLY received the Swiss National Prize, in 2011 the New Heads BNP Paribas Prize and, in 2013, the Swiss Art Award. His work has been published in union catalogs such as "Voici un dessin suisse" (Here is a Swiss Design) (JRP Ringier, 2010), as well as in artist's book form, notably by the Nieves publishing house.
