Julian HAKES (British, 21st century)
Julian HAKES, born Yorkshire countryside in the north east of England, is a British architect and shoe designer. He completed his architecture training at Cambridge University and then studied an Mphil in Environmental Design.
Almost straight after graduation, he founded an architectural firm in London in 2000 and worked on buildings and land mark bridges on sites across the world.
Julian HAKES is also a notable footwear designer and creator of the Mojito shoe which was the worlds first 3D printed shoe first seen at London Fashion week in 2010.
He has won several awards including Vogue Accesories designer award and Draper's footwear designer of the year. The mojito was then developed into a full commercial production design.
Julian HAKES was also invited by Disney / Marvel to design a footwear collection inspired by the Marvel film and character storylines. Having been granted a global licence The full Marvel / Julian Hakes collection was launched at Comicon London in 2016.
