Calor (French, founded 1917)

Calor is a French brand; the company was founded in 1917 by Léo TROUILHET (Arts & Métiers-Supélec engineer), by launching on the market the first European electric iron. It is based in Lyon, has factories in Isère and employed a total of around 1,600 people in 2013. Other innovations have appeared: the fan heater, the automatic iron for example. It joined the SEB group in 1972. Paul RIVIER was its CEO from 1989 to 1993. In 2007, it still continues its business of manufacturing irons and hairdryers and ceased the marketing of toasters and radiators.
