Horloger Clément (French, 18th - 19th century)

The CLÉMENT family is a clockmakers family who worked in Paris between the 18th and 19th centuries. CLÉMENT, the old seems to be the first of the Parisian line. His son, CLÉMENT the younger, was the clockmaker master in 1720. Fiacre CLÉMENT, clockmaker master rue Saint Denis (died May 1758) seems to continue the Parisian line. Fiacre had three boys: The elder Anne (died in 1746 or 1747) rue du Jour and whose wife Marie-Catherine CHASTELET took over the shop after the death of her husband. The second, Fiacre-François (died in October 1777) is installed rue du Maire and finally Claude (possibly died in August 1792) succeeds his father rue Saint Denis.
