Louis DE MARQUEVIC (French, 1896 - 1973)

Louis DE MARQUEVIC, also known as Ludwik MARKIEWICZ, was a painter and decorator born in Paris. He was best-known as a painter of beautiful women in the 1930s and 1940s. His preferred motifs of elegant ladies, artists and famous people, as well as nudes and portraits. De Marquevic also painted big decorative panels and seascapes in Brittany. One of His work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1948 Summer Olympic games.
