Johan THORSEN, born August 7, 1843 in Trøgstad, died August 5, 1886 in Christiania, had been a photographer in Christiania since approximately 1863. The company was located at 36 Dronningensgade. He was married to Anna Augusta EMBRETSEN (born in 1844 in Trøgstad). The couple moved in 1869 from Trøgstad to Kristiania. In 1889, THORSEN's widow sold the business to Thorvald GULBRANDSEN, who named it Thorsens Eftflg.
