French fashion related house, founded by Francois VERGNE (French, Anglards-de-Salers March 15, 1829 - October 5, 1873 Aix-en-Provence) in 1852 in Aix en Provence. At first the house was specialized at selling umbrellas and different fashion accessories, such as fans, but further started its own creations. After the death of Francois VERGNE, his son Jean VERGNE (French, Aix-en-Provence March 17, 1855 - May 5, 1942 Marseille), took over the family business and opened a shop in Marseille. His younger brother Jean Joseph VERGNE (French, Aix-en-Provence April 5, 1859 - January 13, 1888 Toulon) stayed in Aix en Provence to take care of original shop.
