Jean-Henry MARLET (French, 1771 - 1847)

Jean Henry MARLET, born in Autun, is French painter and engraver, student of the Academy of Dijon. He created large paintings of genre and history and portraits of personalities. In Paris, he won a medal in 1822 and several prizes. He created a series of 72 prints: the paintings of Paris. He is one of the first designers to practice lithography in France. Many of his paintings have been exhibited in Paris at the Salon of Painting and Sculpture.
